SCHUBUMKEHR (thrust reversal) is a function of braking of instances in air and in water. When chassis and ground have contact the friction resistance of solid material functions. Air and water on one hand - glowing brake discs on the other hand. Performance as de-positioned movement (the German word  'ent-setzt' is derived from the verb 'entsetzt sein' which is generally used for 'being appalled' but when set apart like that in its 2 parts the compound word gets a second meaning: 'ent-'= de- and 'setzt'[part again of 'GEsetzt'] = seated, placed, positioned).
No resistance is  pointless.

In line with the years before we focussed our yearly theme by an additional presentation on the 29th and the 30th of August 2009.  In 2008 "Bremsen" (braking) was merged to essential relations of location, time and room of human power of action by containment to the technical term 'Schubumkehr' (thrust reversal). Regarding of the present debate about mobility this approach becomes a special actuality.

On Friday, the 29th of August 2008 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m
  • Hans-Christian Dany read from his book SPEED: Der Sommer der totalen Gegenwart (the summer of total present)
  • Roy Vaara/Helsinki presented his performance SPIRAL
  • Kira Stein presented her performance USCHKUMBREH, an anagram-like performance with voice and space.

On Saturday, the 30th of August 2008
  • we started at 2 p.m. with Round Table talks moderated by Dr. J.L.Schroeder.
  • Later on Lars Mueller talked about Gleich wird's Gruen, social movement and performative protest.
