Dear guests of our EINSTELLUNGSRAUM, dear speakers.

To introduce our event tonight I have brought with me these two boards.

On one of them one can see a very busy Autobahn with smoke and dust, plowed by cars.
I have attached the dust here at the bottom, tangible.

On the other side the backside, the  probably by now known two pictures of the melted Rhone glacier in Switzerland between 1848 (in a lithography) and 1970. Millions of years old water solidified as ice melted. Of that I also have with me here a probe.

The wide Autobahns of the first board, which in the meantime replace warehouses of companies and insofar are so-to-say the modern goods-moving assembly lines of big industries, are maintained by all taxpayers even by these who do not drive a car.

Nobody though maintains the glaciers, no tax monies are invested for that, for example as a suggestion for huge cooling gadgets which could be mounted suspending above.

Anything goes but seemingly only what anyone puts into focus. Always ahead, above and now everything above is open, the sun beams into the athmosphere and so the glaciers melt. Anything goes.

We, the EINSTLLUNGSRAUM, have put into focus this year the SCHEIN (please refer to: http://www.einstellungsraum.de/archiv_chromologie.html). This could be sunshine but also bill, driver's licence, but also appearance, this what is taken for something but then proofs to be something quite different.

We already had 6 exhibitions this year about that. You are sitting in the 6th. at the moment.
Heike Breitenfeld shows us here very lovingly how difficult it is to grow up, hence to say 'farewell' to being rocked in the womb and truly search for the foreign - comparable to the here in the window installed children's wiggle car and eventually also to the real car which moves about just like that outside - to truly search for the strange  to expose oneself to that to....well - to what, what for? That is what it is about this evening.

The man with the lantern, what is appearing here?
