(1. chapter) metabolism ? automotion In this round I have the task to cast light  on the symbolism of the exemplary happening metabolism in the motor of a car and to check out the ability to produce gain of knowledge. This is a big subject which can hardly be comprehended in the adviced shortness. So some issues will have to remain some what raw thesis in the following four chapters. The metabolism we are dealing with here is not a metamorphesis, hence no change on one level. It also is not an erotical exchange as it has been phantasized about machines by de Sade to Duchamp. It rather is one of change of levels, from liquid to gas, from bound matter to free movement. Do we look at it as a movement from matter to spirit, such is normally imagined as one from down to up. Of course it is a process of refinement, possibly initiation. It is the way of the buddha, it is the way of all mysticy. The opposite way, materialization of the spirit is a less freqent model of thinking, here only the spiritist are to be named and? thought with farreaching consequenses? each 'coming down' of the gods, for example the Avatare  of Vishnu, the tying up of greek gods with the humans with the result of the gender of the half gods and certainly not last the humanisation of the triune christian god in the figure of Jesus Christ. In the about 1500 years long practised alchemy spiritualization as an ehtical-religious process of improvement found a seemingly materialistic-scientific form. But its treatises are heavily encoded symbolicly,  so that the uplifting in ever higher conditions of aggregate is more likely to be read as pure form of presentation of a process of learning, at which's end is  a spiritual attitude with the 'stone of wisdom' rather than a material matter. Alchemy is a big utopia of the active enlightenment in the sense of Goethe by the path of processes of metabolism "...the one who applies effort can be saved". In regards of the development of the things, the humans and history itself to a higher and better there can be drawn a relation from the gnosis and the alchemy via Jacob Boehme to Hegel and even Marx? - but would lead to far now possibly. On the other hand out of the pracis of the achemistic path has evolved a lot what is part of  the historical part of the current natural sciences. In the nowadays binding atomic structur of all matter the common 'original matter' as postulated by the alchemists after Aristoteles can be recognized, it is even possible to convert single elements in higher valued ones and to make the list of matter in the area of transurane longer even gold could be made? but it would be completely uneconomical. Everything very interesting? but now please the connection to the subject today. Now, to my knowledge, it is a discovery of Elke Suhr, that some historical graphical pictures of spiritual models of world order of mysticism and alchemy look astonishingly very much like  Nicolaus August Ottos drawings of the auto motor.
