_____________________________________________________________________Keep on swinging nicely Wiggling cars for grown-ups the finissage in EINSTELLUNGSRAUM e.V. To drive is to be
rocked. Is a feeling of being in the crib. Is gentle
gliding through hilly areas: Heike Breitenfeld's installations, which
can be seen
for the last time at today's finissage in EINSTELLUNGSRAUM e.V., play
with
stereotypes of car-driving.
Not only that: One can take a seat in the installed car there which is similar to the ones for children that can still be seen nowadays in front of stores. Inside a video of car advertising runs allurs with gentle melodies and a drive through Arcadia. The perfidy here is: The advertising filmers present the car always as single piece. Just on its own, as the human being in the closed car. What are we hinted at? At the illusions of every one who 'just wants to get away' - if driving or walking. A title that the artist chose to make it obvious it is not that simple: either it is too expensive. Or one is in a congestion and quarrels with the family. And in the basement of EINSTELLUNGSRAUM there is something else: There Breitenfeld shows videos of a field try: With a friend she went along to imitate animals' voices to attract storck and squirrel. What humans do when they 'want to get away'. Even if it is absurd. PS Finissage: 7 p.m., Einstellungsraum fŸr Kunst im Stra§enverkehr, Wandsbeker Chaussee 11 |
